New 3G Pitch, Boots and All at Coleg Sir Gâr

Monday 12 December- With students maximising play on the new 3G pitch at Coleg Sir Gâr in Carmarthenshire, Wales, the College is not just happy with their new facility but also with the new sports boots provided by GreenFields.

The new pitch based at one of their sites- Graig Campus in Llanelli has been opened for both their students and the wider community with a goal of increasing participation in sport for everyone. With health and fitness so important in society, GreenFields was keen to be part of this initiative in supporting young people in particular, to exercise and improve their long-term health.

Andrew Cornish, Assistant Principal for Teaching, Learning and Quality at Coleg Sir Gâr said: “The college is delighted with its new state of the art facility and the work of GreenFields. Their donation of sports shoes which are specifically designed to be used on the 3G pitch will be an asset to the community, allowing inclusive access to this exceptional facility for the improvement of health and wellbeing across Carmarthenshire.”

The Evolution XQ 60 Plus pitch now being used for football and rugby, is a turf system which can withstand high usage. The 3G turf fibres offer exceptional split resistance unlike conventional turf fibres, and the pitch successfully passed tests to both FIFA 1 Star and World Rugby standards
